History of South Australian Field and Game Association,

(Extract from minutes dated 9/11/62 and 11/11/73.)

 

On 5/10/62 a meeting between members of the Upper Murray Sporting and Game Protection Society and the Southern District Duck Shooters Association resulted in a further meeting being held in the MLC Building, Victoria Square, Adelaide on 9th November 1962 at 8.00pm.

 

PRESENT J F Warnes, L Amos, R Ayres, S Wakefield, E F MacDiarmid, J Taylor, L Monaghan, A Ralston, F Harrip, K Guerin, H C Hollow.

 

ELECTION OF OFFICERS -

President JF Warnes

Vice President L Amos

Secretary H C Hollow

Treasurer R Ayres

 

NAME PROPOSAL. Proposed R Ayres. Seconded. E F MacDiamid

 

That the Association be known as "The South Australian Field Sportsman Association" carried.

 

REGIONAL DISTRICTS. On 1st March 1963, the State was split into the following Regions - South East - Southern - Upper Murray - Central (Including York Peninsular & Kangaroo Island) Northern - West coast.

 

CHANGE OF NAME.

 

An extra - ordinary General Meeting was held in the Railway Institute Ballroom 5th February, 1965 at 8pm attended by 45 members and friends.

Moved. R Feast. Seconded. I Campbell.

That the Association adopt the recommended new name of the

"SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FIELD AND GAME ASSOCIATION"

Carried unanimously.

 

The South Australian Field and Game Association are incorporated and is a member body of the Field and Game Federation of Australia.

 

The Association currently consists of eight branches (incorporated) and one Club.

FIELD & GAME FEDERATION OF AUSTRALIA

 

Meeting of the Field and Game Association held at the Arthur Rylah Institute, 123 Brown Street, Heidelberg, Victoria on the 11 the November 1973.

 

South Australian Delegates were; A R Jarmyn, G B Bateman, J Bennett, P Schramm.

 

Two names were proposed.

  1. Australian Field and Game Federation
  2. Field and Game Federation of Australia

 

A vote of the delegates showed that a tie was the result and further discussion resolved that the body be known as the –

FIELD AND GAME FEDERATION OF AUSTRALIA
